At the Terry Senior Center the coffee is on! Whether you enjoy pool, puzzles or bridge(played Tuesdays and Thursdays after lunch) there is something for you at the Senior Center. In addition to activities and delicious meals the center has exercise equipment, a a piano and plenty of comfortable seating.   

The facility can be rented to the public for an event at the cost of $50.00, plus a $50.00 cleaning deposit, paid before use of the building. The cleaning deposit will be returned if the building is left clean.

 

The Senior Center offers congregate meals every Tuesday and Thursday at noon. For seniors 60 years or older, the suggested meal price is $3.00. The suggested meal price for the general public is $9.65.

 

Commodities Commodity Supplemental Food Program allows you to receive an approximately 40 lb. box of food each month – due to storage space the Prairie County Commodities Program gives out two boxes every other month. Boxes include peanut butter, cheese, canned fruit and vegetables, grains (macaroni, spaghetti, or rice), cereal (oatmeal, boxed cereal, or farina), milk, and canned meat products (salmon, chicken, tuna, beef stew, or chili). You must be 60 yrs. of age or older and qualify by income to participate in the program.

Public Health Lead programs:

Meals on Wheels Meals- on Wheels are delivered to eligible citizens Monday through Friday.

 

Senior Companion Program- The Senior Companion program links active senior volunteers with senior citizens for companionship and assistance with errands and other day to day activities.

 

Homemaker Helping- with light housekeeping and errands for seniors 60 and over.

 

Personal Care- Performing health-oriented tasks designed to keep people 60 and older in their home environment – includes personal hygiene, grooming, bathing, monitoring blood pressure, and accompanying individuals to doctor appointments.
